2013 Ford Fusion Makes Appearance at Detriot Auto Show

When coming up with their 2013 Ford Fusion concept, the American auto maker borrowed design queues from Europe's Mondeo midsize sedan. So far, it's the hottest car at Detroit's International Auto Show, and soon at Gurley Leep Ford LINCOLN.

The updated Ford Fusion shares a grille with Fiesta and Focus models. Its roofline "forms a graceful line back toward the trunk."1

Upgrades to the engine include a 1.6 liter, as well as 2.0 liter, direct injection turbocharged Ecoboost engine to help maximize fuel efficiency in 2013's Fusion. The 1.6-liter will produce 179 horsepower, while the 2.0 liter makes 237 horsepower.

Fusion Hybrid also receives a new engine: 2.5 liters are available, attached to lithium-ion battery packs. 47 mpg in the city, 45 mpg highway are the EPA estimates.

Finally, there's Fusion a plug-in coming out in 2013. Using Ford's Energi system, the vehicle earns an EPA estimate of 100 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent).
